This booklet is the fruit of a beautiful experience in 2022 with a 12 year old girl, Viki, from Ukraine. Viki came to Switzerland at the beginning of the Russian invasion to continue her cancer therapy (Leukemia). She and her mother returned to Poltava (Ukraine), after 8 months, (when the most important part of the therapy was over). Viki will continue to have follow-up care, but is fine now.”

This book is a beautiful tool for educators, as it gives us insight into the greatest gift we can give our children today....the pathway to Peace. By teaching children to live in Love and Peace, we help them become co-creators of a society that reflects the values of Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love, and Nonviolence. These Human Values guide us to have the strength of mind and the courage to stand up for Love, Harmony, and Peace. As Gandhi said, ”Become the change you wish to see in the world.”

Teachers have the task of inspiring students to practice these values in their daily lives. But, the only way to teach these values is by practicing them. Albert Schweitzer told us that, ”The example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing”.

This book presents a number of spiritual stories related to the Five Universal Human Values Truth, Right Conduct, Peace, Love and Nonviolence. To each of these Values a short definition and the practical aspects related to them are included. Additionally, the concept of Educare declares that these Human Values are inherent in man and how they can be elicited from within. The chapter ‘The Art of Storytelling’ is giving new inspiration to the ancient tradition of highlighting moral or spiritual messages through narration.

The fictitious stories or parables presented in this book were either told by or inspired by Sathya Sai Baba. Thorbjörn Meyer has compiled and retold them in his unique, humorous way by bringing the message close to the hearts and minds of the listeners. During his many years of seminar activities and in casual conversations, it was his stories and his art of telling them that his audience was always eagerly waiting for. Therefore he will be remembered as a great storyteller. Now, here – as one of his final effor ts – we receive with love and gratitude a small collection of his narrative treasure compiled for us by his own hand.
